You can prepare hummus at home simply by blending all the ingredients in a food processor. The key difference will be the oil used while preparing(manufacturing if industrial).

Sesame seed Hummus Recipe

Ingredients

  • Chickpeas (Boiled 600g )
  • Sesame seeds (100g)
  • Water (150 ml)
  • Lemon juice (1 tablespoon)
  • Olive oil (30ml)
  • Sweet paprika (1 Teaspoon)
  • Garlic (1 clove)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Black paper (to taste)
  • Parsley (1 tuft)

Preparation

  • STEP 1: Start by peeling your garlic and chopping it finely, rinse the parsley with water and chop it up the same way as the parsley.
  • STEP 2: Now, it is time to prepare mini tahini - put sesame seeds in the nonstick pan and roast them on medium heat for 2 or 3 minutes. After roasting, take a blender and put these roasted seeds in the blender, and turn on the blender. 
  • STEP 3: After seeds are turned into powder, add olive oil, a pinch of salt, and hot water and continue mixing. If you prefer your tahini dense, then you can add more seeds to the mixture. Or if you prefer a thin mixture, then add more olive oil or water rather than seeds.
  • STEP 4: Once you have tahini made, begin adding chickpeas into the blender, continue mixing and pounding.
  • STEP 5: Now add lemon juice, garlic, paprika, and black paper to the mixture. Again, mix it properly!
  • Your hummus is ready; you can garnish hummus using chopped parsley, sesame oil and smoked paprika to enhance the flavour.

Hummus is also very nutritious. Chickpeas provide proteins and fibre, on the other hand, sesame seeds also have great nutritional value. Sesame seeds are gluten-free and have anti-oxidants that provide immense health benefits.
